I know how everyone tends to treat this place like tech support, but I am left with no other ideas on this one. I had a fancy HDTV for a while and bought a component cable to play games and the occasional DVD in Progressive scan mode.

Now, the HDTV is gone.

Now, the PS2 refuses to turn off Progressive scan for DVDs. I've tried deleting my system configuration save on my memory card. I've tried the "clear Progressive scan" option with the DVD driver. I'm at a loss.

Only thing I can think of at this point is to track down an HDTV and turn it off.

Anyone else have any ideas?
