Ok. So i am going to put in the Xecutr 3 CE solder modchip in my xbox. Easy enough. But i'm reading the install PSF, and it got to the end and said something about flashing?! What is this and how do I do it...can I use AID? Is there a site I can be pointed to to find this? thanks
p.s. how do i get apps onto the XBOX such as DVD2XBOX etc. thanks
hey did any one help you with your modchip i have the same one and i dont know what to do after i install it i se a screen that says things on flasing it or what ever else and i have a new blank hard drive also please help
Blank hard drive is no problem, just find Slayer's disc (has many names, ect. but you find it as a torrent only) and after the chip install, no idea, hence the post
It is the offical site for the Xecuter 3 CE chip, and shows you how to Flash your system.
You can do it by either through FTP, HTTP, or Disc.
When I flashed my system, I did it with a disc. You have to find the latest build to flash your system. You can get these files by using #xbins. If you are going to flash it using a disc, make sure that the disc is a CD-RW, because the Xbox has problems reading CD-R's. You could also use DVD-RW's, but whatever you prefer is fine. I also figured out, that using HTTP is a whole lot easier than the other two. Just follow the instructions on this website, and it should be pretty basic from there.
To get dvd2xbox, on to your xbox, you have to FTP it over to your xbox. Once you get your xbox Flashed, and if you still need help, just send me a PM.
you'll have to get the flash off of XBINs, you'll need X3-3294 and if you have a V1.6 or later use the V16+ flash (both are included in the .rar)
you can flash the chip many different ways, the easiest is HTTP, when you boot the box with the network cable connected it gives you the original FlashBIOS 3.01/3.03 screen and will have the IP address on screen, goto your browser on your PC and put that IP address into the browser address bar and hit enter, you'll get an on screen (at the PC) flash screen with a browse box to select the flash. (make sure the chip flash write protection is off) load the correct flash and hit flash and then you'll have to watch the TV and you can see the flashing progression, when it's completed the box shuts down. at that point you're ready to go
EDIT: the HTTP flashing flashes to banks 1+2+3+4 regardless of switch selection, make sure you have those banks selected when you are ready to reboot the box (flash protection=on, 1=on 2=on 3=off 4=off)
as for the new harddrive, once the chip is flashed and you've backed up the old drives C/E folders, pop the new drive in the box (with power off) hold the white button as the box is booted, you'll get the Xecuter Rox My Box and then X3 Live, which has the option to format and setup a new harddrive. then just FTP back the C/E files and you're ready to go.
