Ok, let me tell you wats going on from the beginning. You know how your supposed to flash the configfile to your psp and then emulate 3.x? I did it the other way around, so now my psp wont show my wallpaper after it restarts. When i emulated 3.01 without flashing the file, it gave me a blue screen of death and i turned it off. After i turned it on, the screen made my psp reset my settings and now because of that, every time i put on a wallpaper and then i turn off my psp, my wallpaper will NOT show up. So what i did was do another reset settings and remove the configfile but nothing.

You have firmware 2.71 right?

Use the generic downgrader to install a fresh copy of firmware 2.71 on your PSP and then it should function normally again.

Yeah you can downgrade to anything thats 2.5 or above, but if you downgrade to anything lower your PSP will brick.

You dont have to downgrade, you can just install a fresh copy of firmware 2.71.

1. Download the downgrader from here:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/827
2.Extract Updateflash.rar and copy all of the files in the MS_ROOT folder to the root of your memory stick and click Yes when it asks to replace.
3. Download a 2.71 EBOOT.PBP and put it in ms0:/PSP/UPDATE
4. Run the flasher (remember to keep your PSP AC adapter plugged in and have a full battery).

Then your PSP's firmware 2.71 will be reinstalled.

Sorry, I forgot to tell you that you have to rename the 2.71 EBOOT.PBP to UPDATE.PBP before copying it to ms0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE/

I did all of that, it just wont work. Everything thats in the readme, I did it. I renamed the file, added it to the update folder, ran hen c/d, let it restart and then i clicked on the downgrader. But just a black screen came up and thats it.

Edit: Ok, i know wat as wrong, the battery was too low. I charged it for awhile then ran the problem. After finishing, i restarted it, added a wallpaper, restarted the psp again but still the same problem.

I think it is a problem with flash1. Because the background file is in your PSPs flash1. Reinstalling 2.71 didnt help because all that does is reinstall the stuff on flash0 not flash1

But I dont think there is a program which will recover the flash1. hmmm. I think the only way you can fix it is by using a program like pspfiler which give you access to flash1 and then repairing the corrupted files manually (by replacing them with the right ones). But thats very risky. But maybe just replacing the background file in flash1 will fix it.

if your on FW 2.71 why not downgrade to 1.5. just use the easy downgrader man u dont need to do anything. eternails is right but his method is long (no disrespect :)) just use this guide. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/389016

psp life = 2.6-1.5 > Custom Firmware Harley G's > 2.0 > 1.5 > C/FW XxPSPmadxX > 2.0 > 1.5 > 2.71 SE-C>swapped 2.5>2.6>1.5>2.0>1.5>3.03 OE-A>3.03OE-B/3.03OE-C

He cant downgrade cos he has a TA-082A PSP. If he tries and downgrades his PSP will brick. Plus I dont think the downgrader formats flash1 so he will still have the same problem even if his PSP wasnt TA-082A.

Anyway, I think I found a solution to your problem. A guy in this thread was having the same problem as you but he fixed it. (But he had firmware 1.5 so I'm not sure if it will work on 2.71 but give it a try anyway).

Well, what im think is that if i downgrade it to 2.60, and then update it, itll hopefully work. If it doesnt, oh well :(

try deleting the registry folder in flash1. You will get the Blue Screen of death and it will be fixed.

That wont work because all the PSP official updaters as well as the downgraders and C/FW installers only do a logical format of flash0, your problem lies in flash1.

Yeah do what frankie said and delete the registry folder in flash1. To do that use PSPFiler.

Hmm, thats pretty risky tho. If i do need to delete, then just delete the registry folder rite? And after im done with that, then what?

Then exit PSPFiler and then reboot your PSP. The BSoD (Blue SCreen of Death) will come up. Just press O and then you will be prompted to enter your old settings.

Its not that risky as long as you only delete the files inside the registry folder.

Actually before I forget to post it, i fixed my probs so thanks to all who helped but none of your suggestions worked. I knew downgrading then upgrading would do the trick.
