What happens or what's the result if the sata chipset isn't compatible and I go ahead and attempt a flash ?
I have a Samsung ms25 and my pc is a K8N-E Deluxe with a Sil 3114.
I've updated the bios to -1011.004 and updated the sata controller as well. In Textbook's firmware tutorial it said however that I need to flash the chip to non Raid bios ? Not sure what that means ?

Anyone here tried it with Sil 3114 ?

Haven't tried it but can tell you that the SIL chipset can't flash a Samsung.

Thanks for your reply ps2menace.

I was hoping that my onboard Sil 3114 was the exception to the rule as it appeared to be possible from reading the samsung tutorials.

I will try to pick up a Sata card with Via chip tomorrow. They're hard to find here in Canada. If not I guess I'll buy a new motherboard. :-(
