what is the best speed to burn a .iso at??
im currently buirning at x4 but ashampoo automatically wants to use x8 but im apprehensive about that. so whats best??

The type of file is irrelevant. Data are data. The writing speed depends on the medium you are using and your drive. It is often safer to record on a disc at a speed half of its rated speed, assuming that the disc works with your drive in the first place. Too slow a recording (1X on 16X media, for example) may also introduce errors because the highly sensitive 16X dye can react too quickly to the laser power at slower speeds. (The speed ratings refer to the speed of data transfer through the laser diode and associated electronics, not to the rotational speed of the disc.)
