XBOX 360 Flashing (with Schtrom v3.1 backups)

Hi, i'm a newbie here and was wondering if flashing was neccesary if you burn backups of my games with Schtrom. I have literaly just got the 360 so don't want to mess it up on day one.

If flashing is the only option, is there anywhere you can do it without doing it yourself, basically, because I'm sure I'll make a mistake.

(Also, is Schtrom v3.1 always reliable? Or would it be better to follow a tutorial where you have to fiddle with the DVD drive's lasers in your computer).

anyway, hopefully it'll be easy to sort out.

yes you have to flash your drive were abouts are you .... UK USA ???

you can pay for it flashing depending on the drive?

I don't know what DVD drive it is. How do you find out?

since you have just bought it it may be the 78 hitachi ... where did you buy it from ??? wait for team xecuter to release there chip if this is the model of your drive do a google search on the x78 chip by xecuter.

bought the pc world pro evo 6 limited edition version from pcworld.co.uk

if it's that 78 hitachi will it be possible for a shop to flash it or is there nothing to do it yet with the new drive?

it can be done but it is hard to do and some folks wont touch it it takes a lot more than just a flash im in the same boat my bird as bought me one for xmas so im in no rush as of yet ,,, i just wish xecuter was ....LMAO :) there is also another way of finding the make of your drivr by ejecting the tray and looking at the tray design .... yhere is a link in a thread somewhere explaining this but i forgot where lol
