Hello,

I replaced my xbox hd with a 200gig 7200rpm maxtor. The drives works but when I shut the xbox off I hear a beep which seems to come from the hd. Is this normal? If not how can I get rid of the beep.

shouldn't be any beeping unless the drive has a squeak in its parking or platter bearings.

I don't think that it's coming from the HDD. I have the same HDD, and I haven't had any problems with it. You may want to open up your Xbox, and see if anything looks awkward or unusual.
