Japanese PSP, no UMD

I have a Japanese version of PSP, mine is 1000G1, and it didn't come with a UMD. So how do I play homebrew games on my PSP? Is it any kind of UMD I need or just the one that comes with the PSP? And where do I get one?

And another question is those reduced PSP iso files are they complete or cut?

You dont need a UMD to play homebrew. You can get UMD's from any game retailer. As for reduced ISO file size, it could have stuff rippeed out or it could be compressed.

hey ya kato i too have a japan made psp but with ta-082.mines too didnt came with a umd game coz it was a GIGA PACK.they do not provide games with it i guess but i boought two games gta:LCS and INITIAL D.great!!

about iso files some are ripped from the umd.so that it can be played on smaller memory sticks.u can ripped them urself too using UMDGEN V4.0 or any..

certain files are ripped from iso's to save space, not ripped from the umd. ripping from the UMD is the iso.

I have one more question. Is a 2gb stick duo enough for all psp homebrew games out there? Is there a game that has more than 2gb? I mean I want to play games that aren't ripped out.

the max capacity of a UMD disk is 1.8 GB so any psp game will fit on a 2 gig stick.

i think 2gb is enough.but u still can compress it to dax or cso.but the bad part on shrinking it,is that sometimes shrinking it too small will result in gameplay speed lags or slows down.

compress to level 5 is enough i guess.tried level 9 on dexter turn out that it cannot be much of a play

like i said 2GB is enough considering the max a psp game can be is 1.8 GB's.

Ok, sorry for asking one more question. I see in torrent sites that some games have more than 1gb and after extracted won't they be more than 2gb?

no. the compressed size of a file has no determining factor on how big it will be. I mean it does in a sense but the amount of compression is always different from file to file. but u dont have to worry about no psp game is over 2 GB.
