most of the newest/top of the line chips will allow DVD-9 booting,or the other method of running it off the HDD will also do

as for your mention of>>>> I just use "Double Layer" option instead of "DVD-ROM Master Disc"

no need for cd/dvd gen,if you have a chip that supports DVD-9,then a straight copy will do,albeit the image may need patching with the toxic dl patch

thx hursty, I currently have matrix mod on mine that supposedly supports dual layer dvds. I tried direct copy of the ATV offroad 4 onto 8.5dl but I get a black screen past the logo...any suggestions?

Supposedly this has been tested on several PS2`s with different modchips , it freezes on the first loading screen (ala GT4), but it works fine with HDL with mode3 or "Kill HDL after launch" option.
This is all I have found for the 1:1 copy.New protection maybe?

The only way I know that it works is with HDL with mode3 or "Kill HDL after launch" option.
I copied full version to my usb drive and could only get to the screen where it says ok , then it freezes. I even tried different IOPRP images and changed DNAS but still same issue, get a few screens to load and then freeze.

i tried to do what you wrote and used the programs you said and it will not do the second layer it says something about a DVD9 and the files that you show for the male and the female they r no where to be found on the
game the fm files r not there so if you have the time to help that be great..i have copied games before like god of war and gta 4 and those games have to be put on a dual layer disk and they play perfect but for some reason this atv 4 wont copy it right and play..any ideas ?

thanks

Did you use apache to open either the ISO or original game, depending on which you have.

Follow just like ODIUM posted in first part of this thread.

Load the image into Apache andthe first thing you will see is layer 1 that has most of the game files on it. Right click on the first thing listed on the left that has the little CD next to it and says: NO_LABEL then choose ?Extract All?. Then you select where you want the first layer of the DVD saved to your hard drive. I named mine ATV1.
When that is done, right click on NO_LABEL again and choose ?Switch Layers?. This is layer 2 that has the movies files on it. Right click again on NO_LABEL, choose ?Extract All? again and save it into the same place the first layer was saved. I named mine ATV2.
You should have 2 folders on your hard drive now that total in size to 7.35 GB (approximately).

You will then have the Movie folder which contains all the male and female files.

oh ok I get it.......so do you have an ISO image you are opening with Apache or is it the original game.

If its ISO image it should be about 7.35 GB

Ok then I would use DVD decryptor then to rip the game first to an iso, then I would follow the instructions here.
