I was using DVD43 in combination with "1ClickDVD" for months to back up certain titles. I had no problems & it worked great, but lately I have been unable to back up more recent titles. I'm getting errors telling me my title is decrypted and to restart and stuff like that. I'm thinking maybe there is a new copy protection scheme out there now. Is this true? If so, what is a better was of removing the protection?
DVD43 doesn't update too fast! it's a program that tries hard to be AnyDVD but it can't compete! Get rid of it. If you want free programs to do every DVD out there then get RipIt4Me, download the programs and follow the guide:
You can still use DVD43 with 1click but you need to make sure you have the latest version of DVD43 = V3.9.0 and also you need to keep your 1click up to date (1click now utilizes a technology called CPRx which deals with 'bad authoring techniques' found on some newer movies)
The downside for some of keeping 1click up to date is a license renewal fee of $19 per year.
Otherwise give AnyDVD a try as IHoe has suggested.
****NOTE if you do try AnyDVD and decide to go with it you are best to buy it before 31st Dec as the price is being increased by $10 to $49 as from 1st Jan
OK, I tried the Ripit4Me suggestion and it seemed to go through the process of copying the DVD by running DVD Decryptor, then FixVTS1 and finally burning it with DVD Shrink. It took close to 3hrs to complete and when it was done, it told me the DVD has been burned and ready to be played. However, there turned out to be nothing on the DVD. I tried 3 different players and nothing. I tried it AGAIN with a different brand DVD and still nothing. I must be missting something in DVD Shrink. What could it be?
1Click DVD Copy always (& still does) make flawless copies when it can. Any suggestions on what is going on here?

Also, I had DVD43 installed (v3.7) and used it in conjunction with 1Click DVD Copy, but AnyDVD recommended I uninstall it so I did. I like 1Click DVD Copy . Can I still maybe have DVD43 installed for it, but just make sure it doesn't load on Windows Startup or even just manual close it when I want to use AnyDVD? Or is it not recommended at all to even have both installed on your system at the same time?

Read my previous post above and it tells you that you need V3.9.0 of DVD43 for 1click to work successfully nowadays, however you also need to keep your 1click up to date as well with the current version being 5.0.3.5
In answer to your other question - Yes you can keep both on your system (disable DVD43 starting up by using MSCONFIG) but if you have AnyDVD you don't really need DVD43.
I only use both as I beta test the 1click products and find you can give better feedback by using more than 1 decrypter.
