I really need your help in deciding whether to return my slim PS2 (bought only a week ago) The main problem is the strange 'whirring' sound it makes after only an hour of being on. I also suspect other probelms such as the lid not openning all the way when I press the eject button and the spindle being so stiff that you really have to press the discs hard do they 'snap' onto it. Anyway I've uploaded a number of .mov files for you all to watch and tell me whether I have a problem. Thanks.

Scrap the above post. Apparently the noise is normal because the Slim PS2 has a small internal fan which comes on when the unit reaches a certain temperature. Still annoying though!
