I think the error is the loaction of a particular pit or set of pits on the disc. Is there any noticeable discrepancies on the discs and is it happening with a lot of them?

Chris

No, there isnt a way to correct it. Try running the disc in Nero CDSpeed and selecting Extras and Surface Scan. It will tell you if the surface of the disc is at fault or not.

I think that is a buffer underun code with recnowmax....

Can be attributed to bad substrates on blank media......send them back for exchange....

How are you copying to them - ie from Hd or disc to disc?

Actually you can return the unused media - by law.......consumer rights etc....

What are your specs for your pc?

Are you multi tasking whilst burning - this can cause buffer underuns, just leave your pc to burn without using/opening other programs, inc screensaver......

Well I wouldn't expect you to have buffer underuns with those specs.

What r u using to burn, recnowmax - what version?
Have you tried burning at a lower speed?

I experienced similar with datawrites - but have now moved onto ritek g03 or g04, these work baaaaaaaaaarilliantly.....

j10,

This does not look like a media problem, if they work Ok on your friends PC.

A few things to try :-

If your friend has a DVD burner, try swapping some of his media.

Try re-installing you DVD burning software (not sure what you're using after all that big list you provided...

Datawrite media is a good media.

Best bet, check your software.
