Well erm... first of all, I found this nice looking guide which covers the 1.5 PSP (which applies to me, as the PSP I've recently bought is a 1.5) and gives it all the cool features like homebrew, custom FW, dual booting, everything I need really, and there's been enough positive feedback to convince me it's all good. (The link is here if you want to take a look: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/403745)

Thing is, it's a fairly dated guide now, what with the newer FW updates out like 3.01. It's probably been updated even further now but I'm not entirely sure. The point is, will that guide I mentioned (which is up to FW 2.71) be fine for running all of today's games and stuff? I don't want an outdated PSP that won't handle the latest games...

I mean I understand there's probably newer software that'll emulate the 3.01 or whatever FW, but why would I want to? Besides, I like that guide because it's all explained for people like me who need the help; if you get what I mean.

Any thoughts?

Oh I see, so just the latest one and that will support FW 1.5 and 3.0x?

Thanks for the quick reply :)

yep yep. It supports 3.01 at the moment, and you can have the devhook menu pop up by pushing home on your 3.01 version that was emulated. of course, you an change it to normal, but this only applies to the xmb, so i'd reccomend you keep it on.

but yeah, nice update for devhook. :D

Nice, nice. No need to faff around then trying to install a load of complex programs. I suppose another thing I was wondering is is it relatively simple to install and get working? Or maybe I could use the section of the guide that covers installing devhook.

No worries, anyway. I'll locate the latest (unless you might happen to have a link handy so I don't risk bricking my PSP) devhook and some tutorial if it isn't straightforward.

Cheers
