like many i am stuck with a 2.81 firmware (well my bro has 1.5). now i hear about when people brick their psp's they sometimes get new motherboards. Instead of waiting for a 2.81 downgrader or buying a lower firmware psp, would buying a new 1.5 motherboard make the psp 1.5?

yes, if you swap motherboard it will change your firmware considering the firmware is stored on an onboard NAND chip.

thanks hex. is it difficult to install? i've opened up the psp a few times. i'm just wondering how hard it would be for the average person.

if u have opened one up and taken out the lcd/lcd tray then it shouldn't be to hard for ya. I myself find it to be fairly easy. If you'd like I have a pdf guide I created from a website. U can use it to help assist ya along the way.
