You should upgrade to firmware 2.71 as it can play more homebrew.

Follow these instructions:
1. Download the 2.71 EBOOT.PBP from here:
http://www.psp-hacks.com/category/47
2. Extract the rar file and then copy the EBOOT.PBP to X:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE\ (where X is the drive letter of your PSP).
3. Now plug in your PSP's AC adapter and then go to GAME-->Memory Stick and then start the update.
4. Once it has updated follow this guide to get DevHook running to emulate 1.5 and allow you to run all homebrew:
