Both of them freeze up on the white screen with the psp logo on it when trying to install. Then after 15 - 25 seconds the psp just powers its self off.
Is this a common problem?
Sorry if its been covered before but I'm in a bit of a hurry today and don't have time to look around the other posts.

What firmware do you have?
You need to have either firmware 1.5 or 2.71 SE-B" or lower to run the 2.71 SE-C installer.

I used an installer I got off psp-hacks which puts the files on the psp hopefully in the right location for the se-c and the devhook with 3.02 i copied all the files to the ms root like the readme said.... both freeze on the same bit when trying to install after I click the installer in the 'game' menu.

Just rename the GAME folder in which the installer files are in to GAME150 and that should fix the problem (this is assuming you have firmware 2.71 on the default settings).

I'll give it a try.
Nice one, I renamed the folder and it worked.
Thanks for the help.
