I am new to xboxes and am getting my 360 at christmas but i would like to be prepared, to set up xbox live wirelessly i have noticed that you need to buy this adapter for the 360 http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProdu...1;-1&sku=415434

I was wondering if u can use any wireless adapter or you have to use that official one, its just its £60 so would rather get a £20 one and get another game

You don't need the Microsoft wireless adapter. There are other cheaper alternatives out there if you want them.

I use a NYKO Wireless net extender from my 360 to my wireless router and have no problems at all.
Download times with demos and movies may be a little slower, but there is no significant loss of play on live. Everything is smooth.
Bought mine on ebay for under $20 US. Hope this helps.
