Hello everyone. I'm incredibly new to this scene and actually just bought my PSP this past Saturday. From what I hear, I'm lucky in that I found one still with older (2.71) firmware, but unfortunately I haven't been able to enjoy any of the benefits yet. After much trial and error, I finally installed and have DevHook 0.4X and DevHook 0.51 both running (it took me about a whole day to realize that I needed to run the TIF exploit each time I wanted to run a Homebrew App). The problem is, I can't seem to get any ISOs running. I'm not sure if it's me missing steps, entering incorrect settings into DevHook, or what. Everyime I go to 'Start', it just brings me right back to the PSP menu. I've also tried both UMDEmulator 0.8c and Fastloader 0.7 (in DH 1.5 emu mode), but both just freeze and subsequently shut the PSP off, right when it look's like it's about to load the ISO. So, if anybody has had likewise trouble, or can offer any help or suggestions, I'd appreciate it very much. Thank you in advance.

when u see it boot right back to the menu thats normal. that means its emulating the firmware. as long as u have ISO's in the ISO folder, have it selected under umd select, and have a UMD in you should see it show up in the menu after it "reboots". next time I would post your questions in this thread:
