I checked back a few pages and searched through the faq to see if there was anything on this problem. I'm sorry if it's a repost.

I've got an odd problem here. My dad just got a lcd monitor not to long ago. We've hooked our dvd player, cable box, xbox, and ps2 to it through a reciever. I've been playing on the ps2 since I've had it and it's been working fine. Sounds solid eh?

I can play any game that I want at all. Amored Core Last Raven, Final Fantasy XII, DBZ Budaki but when I pop in Phantom Brave something weird happens. I get the boot sequence on the monitor and the PLAYSTATION 2 logo pops up but after that it's like the signal to the monitor just stops all together. Just wondering if anyone else had run into a similar problem.

It's just the one game.

is it an original copy of the game?
Is it from the same region (PAL or NTSC) as your system?
I have only had a problem similar to that once.
I could evevn hear the sound of the game but had no picture.
It was because the game was from a different region and even though
my system is modded it would still not play it correctly.

PS- Just in case you want a slightly better gaming experience and have not already done this. Since you have a nice TV now the first thing i would do is get a set of component video cables for the PS2 and Xbox. The composite cables it comes with will not give you the best picture quality you can get. If the receiver doesn't have inputs you can buy a video switcher like i did which will allow you to run 4 different sets of component cables into it, then you just run one set out.
Mine is set up like this:
component cables from Xbox and PS2 into the component switcher.
Then the audio out from the switcher goes to my receiver so i have surround sound for the game systems.
Then the component video cable output from the switcher goes strait to the tv.

Thank for the reply steimy.

Yeah it's a brand new copy of the game that I got from Game Stop. I just thought it was really weird that I can see everything up until the actual game starts. Now I can plug the video portion of the cable straight into the monitor and it works just fine so I don't really understand what's going on...oh well no biggy. Thanks again steimy.

sure thing man, check into those component cables if you do not already use them. They will cost abot $35 a set but with an
HDTV you will get better picture quality for sure.
That is the first upgrade i made after buying my DLP TV
