Hyper X Mod Chip

I recently installed the Hyper X modchip in my V1.5 xbox and tried to flash it with the Cromwell Bios 2.4 on a cd-r. The Hyper X bios screen message indicates the chip is being flashed and runs thru two progress bars (amber then green) then the xbox abruptly shuts off. When I turn it back on it reloads to the Hyper X bios screen like nothing happen. Does anybody have an idea what I'm doing wrong?
