Hey guys I need some help. Im trying to backup NHL07 and Need for Speed Carbon with DVD Decrypter. I followed the guide on this link for backing up http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/367906
When I put my back up in it shows the Playstation logo and then tries to load the game but all I get is a blank screen. Does anyone know whats wrong? thanks

The first time I burnt a PS2 game I just followed the guide and it worked fine.. is it because the games are newer and they have different codes to make the game not work or something?? Because I remember burning a PS2 game was easy and it worked fine

What type of modchip do you have, or are you using swap magic? I have both of those game, burned at 4x on Taiyos using decrypter and play flawlessly.

no man, you dont need to rebuild nfs carbon.
I just made a "backup" with DVD Decrypter @ 4x with a DVD+R verbatim.
it works like a charm

yes, it depends on how the PS2 is modded.
If you use SDwap Magic then some games may have to be rebuilt.
With a modchip then you never have to rebuild them.
But those two games should not need it.
1. how is your PS2 modded
2. what speed are those DVD's and what speed did you burn at
3. were these backed up from original disc
4. have you checked to see if there is any update to your burners firmware available

I have a DMS 4 Pro SE as my modchip.. I have maxells and Im burning at a speed of 4x. The backups are burnt from a original. and Im not sure what you mean by the firmware stuff. My PC is a couple years old and I have a laptop. I tried it a couple times with my PC yesterday and it didnt work so I did the exact samething and burnt the game with my laptop and it works fine. Is this a firmware thing?

most likely is your burner.
I burnt many games with my moms burner that came with her computer and they skip, sound cuts off etc.
Then when I burnt on my friends burner, the same games work perfect. Same speeds as my moms burner, same program same everything.
So yeah it was most likely your pc burner

firmware is on the burner, updating it can help with the burn quality as well as the media compatibility.
If new firmware doesn't help then it may be time for a new burner.
Online at stores like Newegg.com you can get good burners for under $50 like the BenQ DW1655
Sony and Lite-On are ok
Stay away from Plextor
NEC and Pioneer also make some good burners.
Make sure you look at the specs to make sure it burns all types of media like DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD+R DL and so on
