I see several post on how to burn xBox 360 backup games and they all say different media. Before I go and buy my blank media and want to confirm that I buy the correct media.

Some post say Vebatum DVD-R DL and others say Verbatum DVD+R DL.

Which is correct?

i heard that the samsung drives for the xbox 360 can read almost all other dual layer disks besides verbatim. is that true? please someone confirm this.

trial and error ..... you will have to find what works for you just make sure they are + r dl ... no doubt verbs are good . but i havent used one yet but i dont own a sammy

I used Matrix 2.4z 8.5gb DL dvd+r's before - work good.

My Samsung didn't read some crappy Memorex. It reads Ridata and Office Depot discs just fine.

I concur... My TS-H943 MS28 Drive running Xtreme 4b didn't ready some crappy Memorex. I only ever had 2 games to work. A LOT OF COASTERS!!!

Luckily i never had any coasters on the variety of DVDR DLs i have used on my Hitachi. I have used Imation, Ridata, Sony, Phillips and now waiting for a game to get done before burning it on my Verbatim DVD+R DL that i found after a lot of research.

Apparently they are not common in this part of the world.
