how do people.
iv had my psp now for bout a week.
i got it cos i no its possible to download n run games, apps, etc n i wudnt have 2 spend cash on it.
thing is i aint really got a clue. lol
its runnin firmware 2.6 now.
can someone plz tell me exactly how to go about gettin it ready 2 run homebrew and iso's. and weather or not i shud downgrade it.

you need to downgrade to 1.50 to use downloaded games and plays homebrew etc

First make sures its not a TA-082...come back tell it its not..and if it is you can use 2.71 to run iso,homebrew and stuff..

na its got nowt bout bin ta-082 on it.
if i downgrade it to 1.5 will i b able 2 upgrade it again if need b?
and wats the best way 2 downgrade it?

so its not a ta-082?? if its not then upgrade to 2.71 from here. http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/525

and use the easy downgrader http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/755

....once you have 1.5 you can emulate up to 3.02 firmware on it...so you wont ever really have to upgrade..using devhook 0.51...

i extracted it n all i got is an EBOOT.pbp
does that sound right n wat do i do now?

yup devhook lets you do that and run iso too....You got the eboot put the eboot in the root of your psp(first thing that has psp folder)...then go games on your psp and it should say update to 2.71

I thought the 2.71 eboot update had to go in a folder named UPDATE in the GAME folder?.

yup the downgrader will tell you everything to do...make sure speakers are up its voice talking...open it and it will start..

iv gone 2 my pictures like it says but no red screen has come up. it froze the shut off

oh this is very normal sometimes it take up to 15 trys to get the downgrader going...just keep shutting off and turning it back on...personally took me 8 trys to get it to start..when you see screen go red and might be black and mem light go flashingDONT touch it...it will restart with a blue screen and you setup your new 1.5....make sure you have the ac pluged in..

it say as soon as i open the photo menu it will start. mine i have 2 scroll through my pics b4 it starts doin nething. n now its just seems 2 of crashed.

save what you want then...you should format your mem stick....delete everythign off it before you go to downgrade..

do you mean it just froze?on the main screen...yeha if it froze and did nothing.....but if its on a black or red screen with mem light flashing dont touch it..
