Hi i hope somebody can help me out here i ave just brought WINDOWS XP HOME(OEM) and i am wanting to buy anew hdd next year as ive had the same one now for around 7years so if i buy a new hdd can i install the WINDOWS XP HOME(OEM)on the new hdd?. if neone can help me out with tht i wuld be greatfull

The next question is this.

I have a old computer but its served me well its a packard bell iconnect(not sure of model number) buts its a 701MHZ ok heres the thing i want to buy some ram and build it up to its max 512mb,A few months back i brought some as it was runnin on 64mb for a long time and i brought a stik of pc100 sdr 128mb but it only built me up to 128mb where as it shuld of went upto 192mb right??? So heres my question with my old system do i ave to buy two ram stiks the same ie:the same manufactor etc etc

if so can someone point me in the right direction of where to buy some cheap ram? also will my copy of WINDOWS XP HOME(OEM) work with the new ram installed as i will be updateing both my hdd and ram at the same time.

As long as you use that hdd in the same computer you are using now, then yes, you can.
As for the RAM, unless it's of the same brand/make, only one of the sticks *usually the biggest* will be used by the system.
And your last question, yes, your windows will still work, but don't add too much other stuff, only 5 hardware changes *internal hardware of course, not peripherals* are allowed if i remember correctly...
Anyone care to back me up on that one?
