You can play ps1 games but that's only if you have the emulator or whatever from ps3 right?

no, DAX hacked the psp emulation thing were u had to use the ps3 to play your games so now u can play the games without the use of a ps3!

God I love hacker and crackers lol. I knew this would happen soon. my friend is not too familiar with the psp (i'm not pro obviously but i'm learning as I'm going). Anyways I've been doing all the work to get him psp iso's, snes roms, etc. He's been bugging me about finding a ps1 emulator so he can play crappy final fantasy 7 but i've told him numerous times none of the emulators out there are playable really but that they'd find a way to get the sony ps1 emulator to play without the ps3. Thx for the links guess you're awesome.

Question though. Is the emulator in the package or do I have to find the emulator seperately? Like you said ps1 games are now playable on psp. That's with a Sony made emulator that was only available on ps3 that's now available seperate from the ps3 or is that any emulator just because the firmware can support them now. I'm kind of confused about how this works now.

the emulator is in the firmware. You need to get the PSX Games from a torrent website or projectpsp. It is an eboot s oyou jus install it like any other homebrew.

just get the whole folder with the eboot in it and place it in the game folder. start psp go to game and it will be on there. play away

hi, i have a .rar file of crash bandicoot, and it has four unrecognized files in it, but they tell the extension and none of them say eboot. where can i put the .rar so i can play crash bandicoot. or do i have to somhow change change it to an eboot

Are you sure that you downloaded the special PSP version of the PSX game?
What are the names of the files in the .rar file? They should be EBOOT.PBP, KEYS.BIN and DOCUMENT.DAT (some do not have the KEYS.BIN).

ok so I am running a psp version 2.71 firmware. I have been using dev hook to play isos. I'd like to be able to play the psx games though. How should I go about it?

upgrade to 3.02oe a if u wanna play psx games tht u get from torrrent sites
or 3.02 oe b to play ur own psx games plus wht u get from the sites.
if u wanna create ur own psx games to play, u need to convert the iso or img file of ur psx games to the format playable on psp. the 3.02 oe b upgrade comes with tht. read the read me
