Hi all...I bought a "new" PSP version 1.5 from Ebay recently. It was received that week and does appear to indeed be a new version 1.5 . I have run plenty of Homebrew stuff on it already and also installed the latest devhook and can boot it into 3.01 with no probs. Only thing is that from what Ive read around the place people are saying if it is a ta-082 motherboard you cant have 1.50 on it...but the thing is, Ive done the checks and it does appear to be a 082 board! How can this be? It has got the ic number on the board inside the UMD slot and indeed the packaging also matches the numbers Ive seen, Indicating that it is(was) a ta-082 with 2.81 FW. Has this guy somehow downgraded this thing beforehand? All the newest custom firmware FAQ's say if you've got this board your outta luck but whats the story here? Any ideas or am I missing something? Thanks!

I think there's some sort of a downgrader for ta's, I think I've seen it around.. but i've never looked into it as i've had no need of it.

I'll do some research and get back to you

So what does it really mean then if he used the fake downgrader? All the homebrew stuff works fine so whats the difference between this and a different PSP motherboard version with 1.5 on it?
