i ran AVG and Ad-Aware and when i ran Ad-Aware it found a trojan horse threat and it asked me if i want to delete it or fix the problem something like that so i clicked yes but it wouldnt let me so i just clicked ignore some help PLEASE!!!!
reboot into safe mode this is how reboot and just as the mobo posting goes away and before the windows logo shows up press f8 it will either go into safemode automatically or ask what mode you want to boot into select safemode with the up and down arrow key. now this part is very important right click my computer, go to properties, click on system restore and disable it, do not reboot yet, now run AVG again then adaware if it asks you to quarantine say yes after the process go to the programs quarantined files and delete them now reboot back into normal mode by disabling system restore it will delete all previos archives some spyware, viruses and trojans respawn there and need to be removed completely. Now once you are back up and running go to windows live safety center http://safety.live.com/site/en-US/default.htm run the complete scan this will remove bad registry keys, spyware and viruses takes about 2-3hrs depending on your system and what state its in you can go to bed or watch a movie lol,sorry I am serious about doing these steps I clean virus infections regularly and this is my no brainer. Now once its done reboot, go back to my computer, system restore and turn it back on, now install windows defender not the best but better than nothing and its free go to majorgeeks.com they have a list of top security freeware and here is a link http://www.majorgeeks.com/page.php?id=20 follow the advice for the various options. My pc's are all virus, trojan free and I do lots of stuff, torrents, mp3's , game cheats, the occasional porn...lol this is what I use AVG 7.5, windows defender, adaware personal, spywareblaster, spyware guardian, internet explorer 7 with anti-phising turned on and guess what all i use for a firewall is windows xp built in, and once a month I go to windows live security for a full check up. good luck
