ya, I'm getting the same problems, I have codecs installed on my computer that plays any movie file, and I have Windows XP SP2 with Zune, the media sharing is enabled with my Xbox 360, I can get everything except for movies, the only movies my Xbox 360 recognizes from my computer are the ones I made in Windows Movie Maker, help would be appreciated.

The movies need to be placed in the My\Documents My\Videos folder. They won't show unless they're in that one folder. Also, make sure that the videos are loaded into WMP11's library.

Yeah, the videos need to be shared as well. How else can another device on the network show up?

Not true. Any directory monitored by WMP library works fine for me.
I've no idea why it's not working for you guys. As long as wmv files are in my WMP library they are showing up in my xbox.

Yes, as long as the folder that the videos are in is shared and in your library, it should show up on the 360, as long as the computer is ON. And they must be .wmv unless you're running WXPMCE rollup2

Sounds like you guys need the xbox 360 fall update. PS2Menace doesn't have a clue. The files can be in any folder that WMP11 or Zune are monitoring nor do the folders need to be shared. The streaming works via UPnP.

Your 360 needs a broadband connection to the internet. Log into Xbox Live and if you need the update, it will start automatically.

Yes, more than likely you will still need the update. At this time, the only way to stream .AVI is to use one of the many transcoding programs out there such as transcode360 or TVersity. They convert the file to WMV as the file is streamed. I suspect this would slow your computer down. I have chosen to convert to .WMV.
