3.02 OE-A has recovery mode, this allows you to recover your PSP if it is semi-bricked. Also it has many other great features such as making your PSP region free. 3.02OE-A can also run PSX games while DevHook can't.

I recommend that you upgrade to 3.02 OE-A, just see my guide here:
http://eternal-psp.a22.biz/index.php?opt...id=32&Itemid=28

However in 3.02 OE-A, LocationFree Player and the Korean font do not work.

Will it work on a brand new memory card, and do I need to DL the latest firmware first? Thanks & Happy Holidays.

You need to be either V1.50 or running any of Dark-Alex,s previous custom firmwares in order to upgrade to OE-A.

Forget about going back, OE-A is a custom firmware from Dark-Alex.
In order to install this firmware you need to be either V1.50, or SE-A,B, or C which are Dark-Alex,s old custom firmware.
To run PSX games you need to be on OE-A.
Forget about DevHook once you have installed OE-A.
Place your ISO or CSO in the same ISO folder, scroll to the GAME menu and they will show there.

Follow up question here:

I modded the gf's v 1.5 PSP with .46. She can play her retail UMD's, backups, etc without problems. She does find the devhook menu a little daunting though.

Is the 3.02OE the same kind of setup as devhook?

Will she have to boot the PSP, then load up the 3.02OE, then run her apps and switch around to use retails, or is this a total custom firmware replacement from boot on?

TIA

OE-A doesnt need DevHook, you just place your iso,s in the ISO folder scroll to the GAME menu, and they,ll be there, just exe them like normal homebrew.

Create the ISO folder in the root of your memory stick and put your ISOs in there.

Thanks - my root folder says MP_Root and there are 2 folders in it:
100MNV01 and 101ANV01. I installed the 3.02 OE yesterday since I watold it was nice. However - I'm so new at this stuff, I can't plathe games on my stick. I got the PSP in China a couple of days a go, and had 150 on it. with a DEV Hook in Chinese - I also got all these games from a couple of japanese promo disks but don't know how to install them or replace them with other games from disks - any chance you can help?

Their the files that I got from the 3.02 upgrade. I haven't added anything else to the PSP mem stick yet. I was afraid to really screw it up. I tried adding a ISO folder to the MP_Root file and added the ISO and a CSO file. It registers as on the card I can see from the decrease in available mem. However, it does not list the games under the game file on the main screen. I am a real newbie on this stuff and was afraid I did something I cannot fix. Is there a way to return it to the original 1.50 setting? Somehow?

Just thought I'd answer my own question in case anyone searching found it - the 3.02oe is a total replacement. No messing around with little text screens anymore.

Yay!

Thanks!

You do not put the ISO folder in MP_ROOT, you create it beside it.

ms0:/ISO

Download the upgrade from my sig, and place the 302flasher, 302flasher%, Recovery in your 1.50 GAME folder.
Run the flasher.

Well if your GAMES are working through DevHook, you already have created the ISO folder, otherwise they would not work.

Hi, i like to check is the new 3.02oe only works on v1.50 psp? if i have a psp v2.71 but downgraded to v1.50 will it still works?

I heard somewhere my psp can only play iso that are v2.71 & below, does devhook be able to enable me to play higher version iso?

Peace

DevHook 0.46 is not actually installed, it has just been copied to your memory stick.

So just format your memory stick (after backing up anything important) and then use my guide to install 3.02 OE.

@desmdlow- You can upgrade to 3.02 OE as well. As long as you have actually downgraded to firmware 1.5 (and you're not emulating it). Just follow my guide:

In other words, if I have a brand new memory stick with a 1.5 version PSP I can just copy OE-A to the stick without anything else? (Like devhook?) Your detailed instructions state that we must DL the 1.5 firmware which is my PSP, so do I just go ahead with the 3.02 firmware? But since I would start with a new memory stick, my guess is to still DL 1.5 & 3.02 correct? OE-A will have all the photo and music folders included? Thanks.

Hmm, I just found out about this 3.02OE, so I can't go back to 1.5 once I get into this custom firmware? What are the chances of my PSP bricking from the process?
