You can go back to V1.50 if you have RECOVERY installed.
As long as its not a TA-082 motherboard.

I alos want to upgrade to 3.02 A -> B, but I'm still not sure if it's better than devhook .51. Can you still run normal homebrews (snes, calculator, psp media test, ...) on 3.02 A -> B? Also, what type of ISO can 3.02 A -> B run?
Thanks

Hi guys
Question: do I need to uninstall any DH files from Flash if I want to go from Devhook 0.51 to OE-B?
I was just going to run Chaos Zero's OE-A installer and then upgrade to OE-B (running devhook 0.51 right now), but I wanted to make sure I didnt have to remove any Devhook files from flash first.
Thanks!!!

No just upgrade, OE-A formats the flash before installation.

Hello all.
Ive got a couple of quick questions. Ive had a read through all the guides i can find on here but wanted some clarification.
First of all im running 1.5 with mphloader and umd umdemulator (i think its called), also ive changed my gameboot and my monthly wallpapers with pspset.
So if i was to upgrade to 3.02 OE A would i need to set the wallpaper/gameboots back to deafault? And, once i have installed 3.02 OE can i still use the wallpaper/gameboot mods etc?
Sorry if these are dumb questions that have been answered elsewhere but ive been sat at work all day trying to figure this out.
Cheers, Add.

Yes they go back to default, and yes you can change them in OE-A,B.
Although you wont be able to use a big gameboot, as theres very little flash space left.
Always use X-Flash, and DevHook(if your on V1.50)

What do you mean when you say use xflash and devhook though?

X-Flash is a firmware modding tool, the safest out there, use it to change your fonts, backgrounds and various other tweaks.
DevHook is a firmware emulator, EG: Your on V1 .50 and you want to run an ISO or UMD requiring a higher firmware, you run DevHook.

Right last post on this i promise.
I thought the custom firmware would negate the need to use devhook?
But saying that, im not gonna be playing any psx games so maybe devhook would be the better option for me anyway.

If you have 3.02 OE-B then you will only need DevHook to play some games.
Most ISOs show up in your GAME-->Memory Stick menu and you can launch them from there.

Question: What is the difference between 3.02 OE A and OE B? That is the difference between playing games with devhook 0.51 and OE-A or OE-B? DO all games play with this new custom firmware?
Sorry if these questions have obious answeres. I just want to make sure that if I upgrade there will be no problem since I have moved from playing with UMD EMULATOR on fw 1.5 to Devhook 0.46 on fw 2.71 to Devhook 0.51 on 3.02 in just tow weeks and Im affraid my I will make something wrong.

A316 - I didn't have a required directory when I did mine. I believe it was GAME150 and I had to manually create it. There should be a GAME, GAME150 and a GAME302. Put the files in the *exact* directory requested in the instructions.
To the people asking about devhook, I've tried quite a few games, and haven't had any fail yet. There is a post on maxconsole that shows which ones are known to work, not work, etc.
edited - I had "games" not "game" as it should be.

@A316, its most likely that you havent set you GAME folder to run 1.50 KERNAL.
Enter RECOVERY and go to configuration and set your GAME folder to run 1.50.

A316 - You should have 3 folders, not two. Don't rename GAME.
As per the instructions: Place the folder OEB_UPDATE inside /PSP/GAME150 and run it.
So you should have GAME, GAME150 and GAME320. Just create the missing folders in Windows Explorer like you would any folder. Copy the OEB_UPDATE into the GAME150 folder and run it. If you don't see the icon, restart the PSP and then look.
It should work. I used an easy installer for the first part (OE-A) and was missing the GAME150 directory.
