Hi,

Just wondering if the Verbatim is really worth all the extra cash. I can get 25 Datawrite or Ridisc DL discs for the same price as 10 Verbatim. Thats 150% extra for the same price.

I wouldn't know if Verbatim is worth the price but I do have to say, I ask myself that question everytime I run out of them and have no money. Since I don't do online ordering, I have to run to BestBuy and pay $49.99 for a 20 pack.

But...

Every single disc I've ever bought of Verbatim DVD+R DL has worked 100%. Not a single coaster. That kind of peace of mind is worth it.

Well they are better than any others. However there's no need to pay $50 for a 20 pack either. I just get them on sale or buy them online. I've been paying $1.50 per disc for at least 2 months now.

See, I said it myself, I don't use online. No credit cards in this household. I don't trust banks with my $$$.

And, I bought 5 spindles at best buy 2 weeks ago when they were $29.99 so I don't need any for awhile. Just saying standard price for brick n motar store here locally is $49.99

Anyone know of a Hong Kong/US shop which will deliver internationally? $30 for 20 discs!! Il order and even if i get hit by customs, it'll still be cheaper than purchasing from here.

You can get 10 verbs for just over £15 here but they are in very short supply at the moment

Yeah, I've only bought them online once myself. I'm lucky to have a Microcenter near by and I can find sales other places too. When I worked in the Macintosh computer lab in college my boss had the same stance on credit cards. For me it's good just to have at least one, because it makes life easier. Trying renting a car without a credit card. It's a real pain. I remember when I didn't have a CC or bank account for a while due to some credit problems and it sucked.

After you include p&p they come out at just over £20 = $40 or so. Is quite a rip off since these guys in the US are only paying $30 for 20 and were paying $40 for 10 lol. Why do we get ripped by soo much! Im going to try my luck at ordering some from the US.

You PAL people do have it bad when it comes to prices on stuff. That's why I'm glad I live in our hated little country, the USA.

lol Never been referred to like that Dr. NTSC. Had a look on ebay US and found some but shipping comes in at $20 so in total around $55 for 20. Still cheap but il just get some from the UK. $40 for 10 isnt too bad (considering in the stores it costs $40 for 5!).

I've also decided to do a little test. Buy a single Discwrite disc and a Verb. Burn the same game on each and use them equally. Then over time i can decide if paying extra for the Verbs is worth it. I have heard the cheaper brands are hit and miss so i may get a decent disc and the next may be cheese but il try this test out first. In the meantime, il be burning all games onto verbs to be safe. I have heard quite a few people are using cheap media though with good success. I just dont want to have games turn unplayable after a few months and then having to reobtaing the iso to burn.

Well the good news at least is if a disc became unreadiable by your 360 your PC's DVD drive shoud still be able to copy it.

Sorry, wasn't meant in a harmful way. Just couldn't think of the UK right then and PAL came to mind.
