Is there a mod chip that is available for people to buy? This mod chip should be able to play burned xbox 360 games? will it be able to use Xbox 360 Live? ARE THERE EVEN Xbox 360 games that we can download or something? are the 360's game DVD-R's? or like what is it?

hey mate, don't install a modchip. just flash your xbox 360 dvd rom firmware. It is the best and easiest way to go.

best media is verbatim DVD+R DL. but then you have to booktype (bit setting) your dvd dl writer to ROM so that the xbxo 360 can read with ease!

cheers

the thing is that i dont have a 360 yet. i dont even have an xbox. it is going for $500 right now so i wanna buy it but the games are way too expensive like $60! I just want a way where i can get these games for cheap and i know that a mod chip allows us to pla burnt games. Maybe not ALL my games would be burnt. Lets say i have a NFL 2007 that is original and a chip installed can i still play NFL 2007 online or will the chip interfere with anything? I just wanted a way to get games for cheap

Well,

you can get an XBOX 360 premimum for $299 @ microcenter if you have this store where you are at.

XBOX 360 price will start to level off here in a couple of months. I even see bunches of PS3 available at bestbuy the otherday. I believe that the WII is hot now where as PS3 and XBOX 360 is slowly sliding downing a bit.

I don't know if this GLOBE 360 (modchip for xbox 360 at this time) would allow you to bypass the detection on live, I think you can turn the chip off too not sure. But with the dvd firm flashed, you can do this live.

firmware is what you use to flash your xbox dvd rom to allow you to read backup games. very easy to do, just google it on the internet.

i suggest you get your xbox360 chipped with a chip called all360

i would not get the firmware hack because microsoft is planning to stop this in some newer games !!!

GET A CHIP, MUCH MORE RELIABLE

How can a chip be more reliable than the firmware hack when they are both using the same principle which is using a modified firmware to enable the DVD drive will give a all clear and running a disc instead of checking it to see if it's a real game like it's supposed to? No modchip that truly unlocks the 360 exists yet.

Got a source on that Jordan?Because I think thats a load of bull. Sure Microsoft might come out with something new, but then the hackers beat it, and the cycle goes on.

no,

When you put in a newer xbox360 game it might update the system and could cause it to break,

but with a chip its not like that, as it is something in the 360 and not a few things done to it,

i`m sure microsoft are gonna do this, probaly in halo 3 its gonna break the 360 but with a chip, i dought it

Personally, if you're gonna mod your 360 in any way (chip, firmware hack, etc,.), you run the risk of eventually getting caught and banned on XBL. So if you play online lots, I wouldn't do either. So far, I haven't heard of anyone getting banned because of these things, but it's bound to happen sooner or later. But the firmware hacks are probably the cheapest mod. There are people out there that will do it from $35-$45usd.

colaid,

On any 360 hacking message any pretty much any member with Senior status or higher will tell you flashing is the way to go. Take that for what you will.

Memnock is right. modchip is doing the same as flashing firmware. Except that modchip is a device that attach to your dvd rom. but technically it has the firmware rom on the chip that would do the same as dvd rom firmware flash. Unless xbox live comes out with a detection of firmware modification to ban people, you have nothing to worry about. Unless microsoft are hackers themselves, they would not retrieve your dvd rom without letting you know. just like your pc on the internet, microsoft would not invade your privacy and extract data/info off your computer without first warning you, right?

benchmark modchip vs. firmware flash, and I bet they both operate the same but firmware flash is much cheaper $$$$

jordan333, please provide us some documentations on why modchip is much better than flashing method?? thanks!

Flashing your dvd rom is free, just do some research guy! you don't even have to buy any special tools to take your xbox 360 apart, just follow the instructions and take it slow and you will open your xbox with no prob. So, READ READ READ READ!

cheers

ok guy,

what so hard about it?

if so, just go online and purchase a pre-modded xbox 360 and spend $699 your choice.

It's not hard. try it!
