I downloaded Metal gear solid portable ops, and launched it with Devhook v0.46, but when it loads my psp just get a black screen and nothing happens. Do I need a new version of Devhook? Is the rip bad? or is it some option in Devhook that I need to change?

I have the same problem and I am running the new 3.02 OE-B firmwire.

It worked before, but now it does the same thing as Korven's PSP. (Goes black, when when press the home button and exit it just freezes)

Any suggestions?

are you trying to run it from the xmb in 3.02 oe or from devhook?

one thing dat work for me, is if u use devhoook, reboot xmb, without umd, and once its on the menu, pop the umd in and it should work fine.

I'm using the "302_BASIC_Installer_150" (this version doesn't have Devhook with it)

Isn't there a way to play games in the game memory stick menu without having too load the devhook loader? (because that is quite annoying)

I'm using the demo UMD that came with the psp, should I use a UMD game? (i.e GTA LCS or NFS MW)

Ok I used two UMD games but no dice (GTA LCS or NFS MW)

I deleted the Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops CSO and put Tekken Dark Resurrection on and it works flawlesly. (i'm thinking that it's just Metal Gear Solid, but it worked before??)

I'm bumping this up because I just got a PSP and I am now having this same problem with metal gear Portable ops. Wondering if anyone has figured out why it won't work on 3.02 OE-B?

Has anyone played it on that firware, did you have to use Devhook or something?

Really would like to play this game!

Can a Mod change the title to this thread? Like: "Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops on 3.02 OE-B.

i've played portable ops on my 3.02 OE-B and it works fine. it wasn't a torrent though, it was my own that i dumped from the actual umd. it was also an iso, and not a cso.

ZenDuo is right. Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops has to be in an ISO format to be playable without any glitches and any other dilemmas one may come across.

Behring in mind that the ISO version is 1.24GB so you would need a 2GB memory stick in order to play it. (Looks like I need to buy a 2GB memory stick :(

1.24 megs is the size of the rip if you use fastloader. if you you fast loader you then would need to run it through WinRAR, and after that run the two files extracted from WinRAR through UMDGen. final size is just under a gig. also portable ops will not work with a movie umd inserted, it has to be a game umd.

hmm. thats odd, cuz my MGPO is .cso and it works fine. i shrunk the iso with PSP ISO compressor v1.4 and it works. I downloaded the .iso too. Its only 818mb. I dunno wat u guys are doing wrong. maybe if ur using 3.02 OE-B, have a GAME150 and a GAME302 folder. mine works fine :/

I tried first using my CSO when i had 2.71 SE-B" but i got a black screen of death, so i upgraded to 3.02 OE-B to see if its just casue i was running 2.71 and the game needed higher, and yet, still black screen... i put all of my ISO's in an ISO folder on the root of my memory stick and they all work fine, except this one >.< for the ppl who got it to work, can u tell me where u put the ISO in? or where u found the D'load?

For sure, if you are using DAX's custom firmware, when you boot your psp just hold the R trigger and get into the recovery console and disable No-UMD in the Configuration section. It solved my problem as well and i'm using DAX's 3.03 OE-A

Everyday, I watch this world descend into hell. I'm just trying to find comfortable seat with a nice view.
