When I extract a disc, I get 2 files. A .dvd file and a image000 file. Which one do I use in Clone CD? Also, I have to go to select all files for type because they arent naturally an image file. Is that right?

As for your first question, when you open CloneCD, open the .dvd file. This has the layer break info you need to burn the backup successfully.

As for your second question, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. If you choose "whole disc (stealth xtreme 3.0)", then it supposedly extracts everything and puts it into the image. However, if you select "whole disc (blank xtreme 2.0)", then you have to inject the video.iso, pfi.bin, and dmi.bin files. I had to do this when I backed up Table Tennis, because Schtrom wouldn't read those files (think I have a bad original), but I have no idea if the backup works, as I haven't flashed my new 360 (waiting for warranty to expire).

I actually only used Schtrom for Table Tennis, as I prefer the latest version of Xbox Backup Creator over Schtrom, even though they're pretty close in similarities.

I just used schtrom to make a backup and burned it using that file. It did input the layerbreak as the 191 number so I know it was doing that right. I just put it in my xtreme5 ms25 drive and it gives me message saying "The disc is unreadable." I am using Verbatim DVD+R DL and I even burned it using 1x. What could be the problem?

Try this.........(just humor me)

Google clonecd
Download latest version = 5.3.0.0 (or close, 5.3)
Install it.

Reboot.
(you'll have a 21 day trial period)

Open CloneCd.
Click on the icon that has a pencil writting on the cd (2nd on right)
Use "browse" to find your .dvd file (make sure the .iso is in same folder)

CLick next.

**VERY IMPORTANT STEP** Make sure in the write speed you select
2x-2.4x

Now hit ok. 30-45 min later you should have working disk.

I have no idea what Schtrom is.........but I do know this....
EVERY SINGLE README or .NFO FILE I HAVE EVER READ SAYS TO USE CLONECD.

I AM A NEWBIE, BUT I DO WHAT I AM TOLD.......Clonecd + the method I just told you works 100% of the time for me. Could not be any easier.

Let us know. Good luck

I've already identified the problem as schtrom. This is an application which is supposed to be very simple. Click on your sh-d1162c drive and extract. If I do this then clone cd will burn an image which gives error in 360. If I use another application called xboxbackup creator, then it will work. Therefore, it is the schtrom program, not clonecd.

10-4,
glad you got it working.
I figured there were other progies out there that would do it.
*I* just don't know how or what they are. Just sharing my experience.

Merry Christmas
