Everyone here has been extremely helpful in the past and I was hoping you could clear something up for me. I've already flashed xtreme5 but I'm confused about different options I had.
There is the '50x-y.bin' where x is either a or b and y is the drive type. I'm not sure what these .bin files are for and when I load up xtreme boot maker, it can not recognize them.
Then there are the MSDOS miniapps. I know that you can copy your orig.bin file where that is the file of your original firmware and run the program to create a x50x.bin file where second x is a or b.
Then there are the other MSDOS miniapps that report your drive as something else.
And finally, there are the already made x50a.bin and x50b.bin.
When I flashed my ms25 drive from xtreme4.2, I just simply used x50a.bin already included in the folder from xbins.
My questions are as follows (going in respective order):
1)What are the xtrem50x.bin files that have already been made for?
2)How are those different than putting orig.bin file in directory and using 'Make x50x.bin' (where 2nd x is 'a' or 'b')
3)Why would you need for your drive to report as something else than it already is?
I know that for my 3rd question, it has to do with E66 error, but why wouldnt you just report your drive as what it really is all the time? I've read stuff where it says ONLY if you get the E66 error as if you shouldn't do it otherwise.
Any help to these questions would be greatly appreciated!!!

1. They are the xtreme 5 firmware files that don't have the dvd drive key inserted.
2. It doesn't have your DVD drive key inserted in them.
3. Because the firmware is based on the M28 drive. If you have a M25 you need to use the M25 one, else the E66 error.
I have M25 and I used the already made x50a.bin file to flash with. I do not have an E66 error, but are you saying it would be wise to reflash with 'Make X50a.bin Report as MS25' with my orig.bin file?
Also, if I were to try flashing xtreme5 on an ms28 drive, what would be the best way to do this? I would guess it is using orig.bin firmware to 'Make x50a.bin'.
