Hi to all, merry x-mas, I got this psp as a gift for xmas , when i turned it on first it gave no freespace on the ms, so i formatted the ms. when i tried to copy iso files, like it is listed in your forums and many others, the devhook that appears in the ms used to give the error can't load game... i have downgraded the 2.71 to 1.5 using Henc devlauncher 2.71 but still the games don't appear on the ms.. i followed the guide step by step so to wrap it up , i placed my memory stick in another psp v2.71 SE-B" it worked like charm ..so really don't know what the problem is can anyone be kind enough to help me out... thks

dear nicholas
the dev launcher you are using is for playing homebrew only and not psp game iso's.
this launcher is only used for psp's that have a TA-082 motherboard which currently cannot be downgraded to 1.50 version (1.50 needed to play psp game iso's.).
check your psp's motherboard to see if you have a TA-082 motherboard.
if not then downgrade to 1.50.
if you do have a TA-082 then you are stuck to playing homebrew only and cannot play psp game iso's.(not at this moment in time anyway.)

i have to disagree, i have a ta-082 and it works fine with devhook easy install, i did all the instructions to a tee, then i downloaded an iso and placed it in the iso folder in the root menu of my psp and launched the devhook and made sure the firmware was on the correct setting which i think is 3.02 and my son is now enjoying a great game in which it only took me a whole day to figure out but i did and now it all works great :) i love it :)

dear elaine
i must be behind with the latest devhook loaders.
as far as i was aware playing psp iso's from the memory stick was only possible on 1.50 version psp's. other version psp's were limited to homebrew and console emulators etc.
if it is now possible to play psp iso's on a 2.71 then why would there still a great demand for 1.50 versions.
by the way what game iso is it that you have installed and playing.

dear nicholas
actually it's only 11.15pm here.
if you turn your psp over and open the umd drive door look inside the top righthand corner you can just see a small piece of the green pcb of the psp's motherboard.
if it has printed there IC1003 then you have a TA-082 motherboard.
if not then you are good for a downgrade.

had to do that about 4 times to get it right
then i placed the ISO file in the ISO folder on the root of my psp,
rebooted my psp , went to photo, then over to HEND, (it is only successfully loaded when you see the blue screen and it reboots automatically)
then you go to GAME and memory stick , you launch the DEVHOOK beta for 2.71, and the menu comes up for DEVHOOK and you change the firmware to 3.02, make sure you see the file that you want to use (ISO) and choose that , then start it should load,
took me a couple of times and frustration but it finally worked, the only reason why i was getting the error i have to update my software was because i never went into the DEVHOOK and changed the firmware option to 3.02 it was still seeing the devhook original 1.5 ,
HOPE THIS HELPS :)

dear nicholas
regarding my reply to eliane earlier i am not aware of any loader that allows psp iso's to be played on 2.71 versions but i have been off the scene for a couple of months so i may be well behind the advances in new loaders.
according to elaine she has got a psp iso up and running on a 2.71 TA-082 version email her and ask her to email you a dump of her memory card (less the game iso to keep it small.).
i can help you with getting psp emulators and roms running.
if you email me your address i'll send you a demo for you to try.
phil.
