Well i got my psp for Christmas this year. I was slightly researching downgrading, bricking etc, before i got my psp. My psp has the IC1003 text near the umd slot. So its a TA-082, or at least thats what a site told me. It has firmware 2.60, im wondering a few things, if i can downgrade to 1.50, whats the estimated chance of bricking, and whats several useful reasons to downgrade and use homebrew stuff? (tv remotes using the psp arent too great ._.)
The chance of bricking your PSP is 100%. You can't downgrade a TA-082 PSP.
However you can run homebrew on firmware 2.71. So just upgrade you PSP to firmware 2.71 and you'll be able to play all the homebrew you want.
Homebrew is great! With homebrew, you can back up your UMDs and play them off the memory stick. You can modify your PSP's flash to make it have custom fonts, boot movies etc.
Also there are alot of homebrew emulators which you can run on your PSP.
Ive been playing my gta for an hour now psps are great and my wifi gets 100% signal so im completely happy with everything the psp was meant to do.
If you can run homebrews on 2.71 would someone mind posting a guide to updating it from 2.60 to 2.71, im unsure if i update it if it will update to the newest version and not goto 2.71.
I slightly started to read ur psp iso guide but i forgot about i had to go out so i couldn't finish it.(so ill post the questions and probably reply late tonight or tmr)
I downloaded a sample rss at the sony website , but i still dont really nderstand the whole rss and locationfree player.(even after reading the handbook)
My psp parental control password seems to have been set? yet it came brand new out of the box do you know how to reset the pw or change it?
back, i was viewing the forum you linked me to, because you need to register to download the file, and they were talking about how firmware 3.02 OE-B was the best, should i upgrade to 3.02 and do that or stick with the 2.71
