can you connect the 360 to your pc which is on wireless without having to connect 360 straight to modem

what do u mean straight to the modem. to connect to ur 360 the pc has to be connected in some way. u can do ethernet cable to pc or ethernet cable router and wireless signal to pc.

I assume you want to avoid buying a 360 wireless adapter and that your xbox is near your pc.

Connect the xbox to your pc with a crossover ethernet cable. This creates a separate network from your wireless internet connection. To join the two networks together you need to bridge them on your pc.

In the pc control panel go into network connections. Highlight both the wireless connection and the local area connection. Right click and select 'create bridge'. The xbox should now get an IP address from the router and you are away.

I've got mine setup in reverse. Spare wireless access point connected to the xbox and cheap wireless adapter in my pc. Hard wired pc to router. Works fine.

thanks 4 help got it all sorted out now used ethernet cable to ethernet usb adapter on pc works fine
