At the moment i have just been using my ps2 slimline and its been doing me fine. But christmas has gone and everybody seems to have gotten either an xbox 360 or a wii.
I really do want an xbox 360, i have been told theyre better then the wii and will be better then the ps3.
The thing is, i dont have a clue what to get core or premium package. I havent the slightest idea what i would need a 20gb HD with my xbox etc or xbox live.

Also, will the xbox be better graphics and quality then my ps2 even though i have a standard 20 inch widescreen lcd ? It isnt HD.

Thanks

360 will probably look better on your tv. My opinion on the core or premium is get the premium. I would much rather play with a wireless controller than wired. Also, hd save games and other stuff on it. If you get the core you will need to get a memory card if you are going to save games which would be highly recommended. I think they are around $40.

What do you mean save games on it ?
Like rent a game, save it on the HD and then can play it from HD.

Please can you help me as i want to know if i need to do some serious saving. Only got £160 but would need around £300.

No, it's for game saves (not games saved to the HDD for later play)
You will need at LEAST a 64 MB memory card which is $40 dollars itself. So you only save 60 dollars if you get the core, and you miss out on the headset, the HD cables, the HDD, the wireless controller, ect... Get the premium and save money on the games by modding your 360

no
yes, it will look better than your ps2. get the premium. Only moded xbox 360 can do right now is play burned games. No, you can't store games onto hd. yet
I would also get gears of wars as your first game. But that's just me.

i just got a 360 for hannukah and i had the same question and after doing research i decided that if u want to play original xbox games you should get the premium. This is because you need the hard drive which bring the core up to $370 and for an extra $20 you get live a ethernet and about $50 more. The only reaasons to get a core is if you dont want to play old xbox games or if you can find a used coree (almost impossible)

theyve been $400 dollars for a while so i would save up intending on them being $400 dollars....but maybe you will get lucky and have one of those amazing sales

or check www.amazon.com cause they run a weekly sale and every once and a while they have 1,00 copies of the 360 going for a $100 but those happen very rarely and are almost impossible to get a copy.

so your best bet is to save $400 and just buy it at a store

Thanks for all help its appreciated.

Going to buy a few games at a time like. If i buy 10, then you end up wasting a few and not going on them.

HD Tv- better grasphics not needed

live(online)- is only if u want add on,upgrades, arcade, and to play other people

yea live does make games a lot better with add on and upgrades...plus more maps/levels....so it is definitaly worth it is you are willing to spend $50 a year plus adaptor costs or the cost of a ethernet cable(comes with premium)

So having the opportunity to go on xbox live, is just like going online with the ps2 but you have to pay.
