I have a Modded Ps2 and when I start certain games (Fifa street2 & Need for speed:Carbon) the game boots fine then " Press start " appears on the screen so i press start, and nothing happens it just stays there, I've tried different controllers and I have tried burnt copies and originals, I think it's because it's been modded the ps2 has these errors. Could someone PLEASE help...would be appreciated.

Copy those games of yours, from the discs you have to a better ones.
I use dvds "tdk" and "traxdata" without problems. For cds i use tdk & verbatim.
Many use also Tayio Yuden (think is writen so), but i couldn´t find them anywhere.
When coppying the games use half of the speed marked on the discs.

He tried the original games so it aint the type of discs, there's obviously a prob with the PS2 itself, funnly enough i've bought another xbox 1 about 3 weeks ago (refurbished) and it's not getting past the xbox boot screen so it's in at microsofts approved repairer getting fixed under warranty

it might be the Modchip. It might not be able to play certain games. Or maybe needs to be upgraded etc.

well the only real solution is to take it back to where you had it modded and have them fix it. Any reputable modder should stand
behind their work.
And if you do not already know, ask them what kind of chip it is.
That is really something you should know.
