I have been trying to connect my xbox forever now and I can't do it.. I read where I didnt need anything but a crossover cable, couldn't get it to work.. I was told to use a hub so I went and bought one for $40 something, still cant figure it out..

can someone please help.. step by step guide is welcomed ;-)

i connect through my router, i plug the box directly to the router, ande then the router to my moden and it works
