Hi there, I just tried backing an already backed up 360 game with "clone CD" using my SONY DVD-RW AW-G170A. It took 1 1/2 hours to read and then 40 minutes to write. So quite a long process.
When I put into my 360, it detected the game and loaded but... it immediatly froze on the first intro clip. ie: "Epi* Gam*s"
I have burnt many 360 backup games straight from the .dvd file from my SONY dvd writer and it works flawlessly.
So im not too sure what is the problem. I havent tried to do it again... dont want to make another dual layer coaster.
Do I need a specific drive to read it? Like the SAMSUNG SH-D162C with the new Kreon firmware?
Or do i need to set the layer break and I copy with clone CD?
or is it just a very unlucky burn error...?
thanks

Nono thats just the DVD Writer's name. I use Datawrite Titanium DVD+R DL to burn my games. They all work fine at the moment. Im just having problems when i make a copy of that datawrite titanium copy.

are you doing a staight 1 to 1 copy? if so try restarting the comp because alot of the time when it takes that long it means that your computer is running low on system resources, also try just ripping to the hdd insteads of 1 to 1, more reliable also.

It seems everytime i use Clone CD to copy an already backed up game it cant read these sectors:
Quote:
W 17:17:54 Failed to read Sector 1913792
W 17:17:55 Failed to read Sector 1913824
W 17:17:57 Failed to read Sector 1913952
W 17:17:59 Failed to read Sector 1914016
W 17:18:01 Failed to read Sector 1914144
W 17:18:02 Failed to read Sector 1914208
W 17:18:04 Failed to read Sector 1914336
W 17:18:07 Failed to read Sector 1914592
W 17:18:08 Failed to read Sector 1914720
W 17:18:11 Failed to read Sector 1914944
W 17:18:12 Failed to read Sector 1915072
W 17:18:14 Failed to read Sector 1915136
W 17:18:16 Failed to read Sector 1915200
W 17:18:18 Failed to read Sector 1915392
W 17:18:20 Failed to read Sector 1915584
W 17:18:21 Failed to read Sector 1915712
It seems to be consistent with several games I have tried with.
Has anyone sucessfully copied an already backed up 360 game using a standard dvd-writer? Or is most of the advice given on this thread just theory?
I have made 3 DualLayer coasters now. bah. I am really considering buying the Samsung SH-D162C Kreon flashable drive.

well the drive the backup is going in must be able to read dual layer media. and don't use 1:1 copy to hdd first and then burn that way if there is errors, your not wasting dual layers. load up clonecd, press 3rd button(read to image file), select destination, when it is done you should be left with 7 or 8 files. just burn the image.dvd one like always.

what software can i use to extract a 360 iso and dvd file from a dual layered disc as i want to put it onto my hdd again, have tryed just sending the 2 files straight from my dual layer to my docs, but always 50 % the way through i get cyclic redundancy check, which i believe means a corrupt image file, but i have already used these files two burn my BACK UP .
so what could be the prob, please help!!!

you can use dvd decryptor to make exact iso of the game you already backup. Xbox backup creator won't rip and make iso to a game that already backuped because game security sector was already unlocked.
Get dvd decryptor..then go to mode...then iso...then read. It will make an iso for already backuped game. It will give you iso and MDS file. Don't worry MDS is like .dvd file.

can anyone confirm that you can make a straight copy of a "already backed up xbox 360 game" by just making a straight copy from Nero or dvd dycyrpter?
