2.80 psp What do i do ?

Hi I just got my 1st psp and its version 2.80 (its not a ta-82 aka looked in the UMD tray and there?s no markings on the PCB) I?ve looked all over the net and I?m not 100% sure what to do to be able to play homebrew etc. I would like to install the new devhook. Now could somebody clear things up for me. Should I downgrade my psp to 1.5 (how I do that I don?t know) then update to 2.71 then install devhook. Or is there an easier and safer way to do things (I?ve herd downgrading can cause bricking if done improperly)

thanks a lot. Just tryed it and i have a little problem i cant access the photo menu in my psp ??? i select the memstick and it doesnt open. i tryed it after reformatting my duo and with an empty mem stick it still wont open it doesnt even have the "no photos found" message all the other media have it aka "There are no tracks" for music ??? am i alone in this problem or is it a common and hopefilly easly fixable one ?
