Having troubles emulating Sega Genesis..help please.

hey all, i just got a psp, and im looking to put a few genesis roms on it, but im having some trouble.
heres some info on what im working with here.. i got a version 2.60 PSP, and i'm usuing a loader to run homebrews.. as of now, i've got NES roms, N64 roms, and a drum simulators on there..
Anyways, as i was saying, i'm having trouble with genesis. It seems that every emulator i run into either wont work for me, or, if it does, its not recognizing the roms i have (they're in .gen files.. i dont know if that would effect it).. anyone got any words of advice?



(also, no biggie, but, is it something i did wrong, or, is the psp not capable of running N64 roms at appropriate speeds?)

I had the same problem, use DGEN 1.60, NOT 1.70. Well you could try it, but it didn't work for me. 1.60 seems to work fine.

I couldn't get it to play my .gen files either, due to the fact DGEN can only read .bin files. Google 'sega bin roms' or something for more, but there is this website which has a nice selection of .bin ROMs. Sadly, none of the Sonic games except for spinball :(

Google it, should be easy to find.

As for the DGEN emulator, just Google that too.

As I said, you could try 1.70 but it just wouldn't boot for me.

I actually have a 1.5 PSP with devhook 0.51, I don't know for certain if DGEN will work but give it a shot.

thanks for your help.. but.. it didnt really help me at all.. none of the version of Dgen work for me..when i go to boot them up, it always says "the aplication has crashed" or something like that.. anyone else got any ideas? perhaps other emulators?

That's strange... well actually it might not be because you said you're on FW 2.60 and using a loader. The version of DGEN I used was specifically made to run on FW 1.50 (but there is a 1.0 one too).

Sorry, I'm not sure what to suggest other than... give up on the Genesis emulators?

Xithon, providing links for roms is not allowed and the Mods will ban you so you should edit that link.

PsychBeat, try compressing your roms into .zip files. Some emulators like Snes9x TYL Me edition require that.

i had one emu that loaded up, but i deleted it cause it wouldnt read the .gen or zips of .gen files.. stupid me, i didnt remember then ame of it either. I guess my only problem now is finding a decent genesis emulator, aside from a DGEN one.
