How does flashing firmware work. And when i flash will I be able to play back up games? I heard that you have to open your xbox360 up,... is their another way to do it other than opening the xbox 360?

There are countless threads here on Afterdawn about how to flash a 360. Also google "flash xbox 360" and many video guides on youtube. Search and find the answers you seek.

i haven't found info that would allow me to play back ups without opening the xbox 360

Judas543, currently there is no way of playing backups without first opening up the Xbox 360 so that you can flash the firmware of your dvd drive. If there was a way to do this, people would be jumping all over it. Maybe in the future there will be something, but most mods for any console require you to open the console first.
