you musta been a real noob to brick! this is brick proof in my eyes... ive doen so may TA-082's now lost count and i use my OWN guide lol!
This guide just make me remember the steps!

OMG, I haven't been checking the community for a week or so and now my ta-082 can be downgraded. Very nice indeed!
Has there been any other reports of the downgrader bricking the psp? Is this different from the supposed fake downgrader released a week or so earlier?

There have been bricks but that is bacuse they tried putting the files in teh right placeses manually and slipped up!
This guide is fool proof, and no 1 has bricked using this guide! i have used it countless amount of times on my mate spsp's and no bricks!

i followed your guide and it works! I downgraded my 2.71 to 1.5 and then I upgraded to 3.02 oeb via

My question is, I've deleted oeupdmaker, oeupdmaker%, 302oeflasher, 302oeflasher%, and OEB_UPDATE from my memory stick. What else from the 2.71 to 1.5 downgrade can I delete to save some more space on my memory stick? Can I delete the HEND folder?

Basically I am trying to downgrade my ver 2.71 TA-082 psp to 1.50, i followed the steps and executed the idstoragechange,
however the next step involves me running the generic downgrader, "update x.yx" but on my psp screen it shows "UPDATE ver X.YZ" is that supposed to be alright?

Why?
if i wrote it like this would it have been any different?

just wanted to say that this downgrade worked like SPAMBUSTERS! no brick, i repeat no brick, and it was easy as hell. are there anyother sites that are good to go to as far as emulating that 3.02 firmware other than the one listed above? i have a fresh 1.50 psp and have no idea what to do with it... a few links to some places would be appreciated :-) ... man this made my year!
NOT A NEWBIE TO THE SCENE, JUST TO AFTERDAWN... been around since the days of aol 3.0, fate x and havoc. good times.....

nope that site's pretty damn comprehensive. you wanna upgrade to 3.02oeb to get all the features of 3.02 but with the ability to run homebrew. plus some psp games from retail won't run on 1.5. follow the instructions carefully...if you've downgraded to 1.5 w/o problems, then the other guide by jak_master is a piece of cake.

@ redphi, I did all the instuctions very carefully, i did the upgade x.yz thing, then the next stage involved waiting for the flash screen to come on and it did, I got the small writing that turned the magnetta colour and when it had finished, it said press x to restart, that was the end of that I'm afraid.
i like inthe uk btw

I bought a new 1.5 Jap PSP and have been struggling trying to get most games to work using a variety of methods, whether devhook,umdemulator or mph (which I am not even sure if I installed correctly). I have just checked the m/board and to my horror it's a TA-082!
Do I need to upgrade the firmware to 2.71 so I can then downgrade to 1.50 and make it as if it isn't TA-082? I would use the FW updater on QJ:

followed by the downgrader in this thread, then upgrade to oe-b via oe-a first. Is this the correct way for me to do it? Once I have got to oe-b will I need any additional programs to run games or is it all included in the fw? It was someone mentioned getting devhook 0.52 after going to oe-b that has me a little confused on that issue.
Was so pleased to get the PSP but it has been so hard to find up-to date info on what to use/do as there are so many sites & programs out there! Thanks for any help you can give!

YEEEEHA ! It worked for me! For those who are planning to downgrade their PSP: this could be the best tutorial available on the net for 2.71 PSP's with TA-082 motherboard !
i followed the tutorial from touran22 exactly, step by step.
(Except for the part where "Update X.YX" should appear, mine said "Update X.YZ" but apparantly that was no issue...)
Thanx touran22, you'll make me save a lot of money in the future!
I bought my PSP 4 days ago (basic pack with killzone included). I didn't upgrade my firmware and hoped a downgrader would come out soon. Dark_AleX then came up, as if he were Santa in person, with a beautiful gift for every TA-082 user: the downgrader everyone was waiting for!
SPECIAL THANX TO DARK_ALEX, HIS CREW AND ALL WHO SACRIFICED THEIR PSPs, blood, sweat and tears. and off course Sony, for leaving a gap in the security system :D

its fine, if its 1.5 then your ok to upgrade to OE-A/B or get devhook.

went very well..It was a little nerve wracking when it was extracting on the psp (creating the DATA.DXAR file) it took awhile...Many thanks to DAX and friends...

Okay im really stuck i have 2.71 TA-082 i think the letters on the umd case are IC1003 and i just cant seem to downgrade i get stuck running Hend-d it just stays there nothing happens what can i do?

ok first of all i want to thank all of you who have made it possible for the ta-082s to be able to do all this nice stuff, thank you
k well i have finally got 3.02oeb to work on my psp but my only problem isi cant run isos, it recognizes them but when i try to run them i get an error, if someone has coverd this can you link me to their answer and if not if its possible to run isos on 3.02 eb using a ta-082 psp can someone show me?

hey i was wondering if fw 1.5 can play ps1 games also. cuz i dont wanna upgrade my psp to 2.71 se-c or 3.01 or 3.02 oe cuz i like 1.5 more cuz i like how it can do more things with xflash! so if anyone knows if i can play ps1 games on my 1.5 please tell me the things i need! thank you

so that was it, damn, sorry to hear, was it your first, it is my first, and regardless of the fact that i can afford another, i want to get it right first time, aka no brick,
I think everybody who has successfully downgraded from fw 2.71 had the
"K" or "J" version, can anyone confirm that they have downgraded a
TA-082 -K- FW2.71

it doesnt matter what box numeber you have mate, as long you have the ic3001 on the right hand side... if you have that u can downgrade!
