Well, I chose THIS site for the particular reason that people seemed to be friendly and willing to help, but i guess I was wrong. Touran, i already mentioned that I tried to follow the guide, but it is lacking detail. When it comes to something that cost $200-$300 to purchase I can't just take "guesses" and hope that i'm right. If the psp only cost $20 I would have already tried myself. I'm just worried about bricking it, that's all.

How is this lacking detail? i made this guide while i was downgrading?!
No one else has had any problems. if u cant read then why are you trying to downgrade. downgrading is the first part then you have upgrading to FW 3.03 OE-A' or use devhook on 1.5 which i can tell u is not simple. i think its harder than downgrader. i suggest u read, read and re read the guide!
Im not trying to be rude but i dont no how u can go wrong!

Don't get me wrong, it's a good guide. You just need to be a little mroe specific for noobs like myself =( i mean, it says to extract archive, but doesn't say where to. Then it says to install to the ms of the psp, but doesn't say what folder that is(I had no idea if it was mp_root, psp, psp/game, psp/photo etc etc) Can you see where i'm coming from now? If not, then I must just be plain stupid.

Ok ignore all of my above messages. I have apparently just graduated to super noob. I was installing into the actual folders on the memory stick, rather then just the ms itself. grrr sorry for my ignorance.

Begging your help Touran22
First off, let me say that I thank you for creating the installer, and the guide, however I seem to have run into a problem...
I followed the guide to the letter, everything worked as described until the last step, when I was supposed to get a "bsod", I got a blank screen. I waited a bit, and pressed the "O" button as instructed (just incase "bsod" stood for "blank screen of death"=). The psp didn't change from a blank screen, so I just left it there for a bit, and all of a sudden, the ui appeared (I assume it happened when the screen dims for power preservation), but when I touch a button, the screen goes blank again.
My question is: Is there a way to repair this? I hear sound when I'm moving about the ui, and when the screen does appear after I stop using it, the cursor has moved according to my input. So, it seems as if the only problem is that the screen dimming has been inverted so that the psp turns it off by default instead of waiting for 5 min or so to do it.
Sorry about the wall of text, I'm eagerly awaiting your reply.

@Handhoney
Try pressing the disply button(the one next to the music button) on your psp a few times...
It should solve the problem...

I have a better solution for you. How about you keep your smart*** remarks to yourself. Don't respond to the thread if you have nothing helpful to say. I think it is quite obvious I know how to read. I just made a human mistake and installed in the wrong place. Instead of posting stupid remarks, a simple, helpful reply would have been nice.

You seemed to answer rick55's question about the folder location to install to just fine. Well, I had the exact same question, worded differently, with more detail. Why couldn't you answer mine? Anyways, I don't appreciate getting treated like an idiot, I don't have a problem with either one of you, but maybe YOU should read before you post.

@ Athrun
I tried that and it didn't work, but get this...I put in a umd and the system fired up, and just worked. Checked out the version and it is indeed 1.5 *dances*. Now, just to wade through all the bs and figure out how to actually dump isos on this thing. Thank you so much for your time, and thx again for the super easy downgrader...I've been at this all day, it was a blessing.

Umm.... if u cant extract a file then why u wanna downgrade? obviously u need some expeince with ANYTHING to do this. i can not make the guide any more simpler. im sorry if u cant do it but as u can see, every one who has done it PROPERLY have had no problems! so why are u complaing? they did not have any problems so why should u be difernt?
If u need help with little things that are not related with the intial downgrade process then Google.com is your friend.
Honestly, how do u extract a file....
