Sadly my PSP met a terrible fate using this downgrader... i dont know if sony did any thing to prevent this because i did every thing right, i am not a n00b trust me i did and verified every step i took and every thing ran correctly UNTIL it said "press x to restart" i press x and well... brick just in case mine was a giga pack ver. 2.6 TA-082 mobo PSP i upgrade to 2.71 installed it ...CORRECTLY ran Hend with no problem it restarted i ran idstoragechange it was fine after it fini i ran the downgrader it did every thing when load of files was 100% it said press "x to restart" and then the screen got dark i thought it would restart it did'nt, Brick ... i dont want to ruin this downgraers rep, so people please be careful.. mine still has warranty i will change it tommorow, untill then Wii!

I have just bought a TA-082 with 2.71 firmware. Ive downloaded games whats the safest way to play them.
Do i need to down grade to 1.5 or can i use an emmulator straight from 2.71, what do i do?
I have done a lot of reasearch but this has confused me even more. I felt confident i could have a go without bricking, but reading the last couple of pages it seams like people are bricking theirs, help.
Im a real novice (as if you hadn't guessed) so if any one can post me some links of what all the terms mean and how to get back to basics i'd be really greatful.

Sorry if im running over old ground, i bet this path has worn bare now.
Thanx in advance

i got a new one though,... 2.81!!! no good, anyway i KNOW dark Alex deserves his props i know of his accomplishments and every thing im not trying to ruin this downgrader, im just stating that it din't work like hatem35, ive had a psp since the december 2005 i think, but that one was stolen feb 2006 so i only had it for a month or two that one was 1.50. the one i had before the brick was bought november 2006 in a giga pack, in feb 25 i find this forum, i got my courage and tried it bricked, now my 2.81, i upgradedto 3.03 BUT CHECK THIS ITS FINALLY HACKED: http://www.noobz.eu/joomla/index.php?opt...Itemid=88888898 WHOO! the next few months will be pretty interesting if these guys actually get the downgrader working i'll wait around to see what happens and i will study my opcions before i throw myself to a downgrader again

for step 4 it says:

4.run the installer and it will install everything on to your MS including HEND.

what installer? i ran 2.71_TA-082_-_1.50 , then it made a folder on my desktop called ' PSP Hauptverzeich nis Wählen! ' i put the files in this into my PSP with respect to the folders that they were in in the ' PSP Hauptverzeich nis Wählen!

so is that right? i am confused...
thankyou if you are able to help me

i hate you all because no one answered my question, yet i forgive you because i figured it out, and it worked :)
now im happy!

ps: if there is anyone else out there who got stuck like myself, this was the problem:

when i would open up that installer thing, i wasn't clicking on browse, then selecting my psp, i was just leaving it where it was then going to install...silly, silly, me.
nice tutorial touran, except of course for the part that confused me...s'aight though

Yes, just reformat your memory stick and follow the downgrader instructions.
