how do i watch a .avi movie without converting it to MPEG-4 because when you convert it takes tooo long and the files goes too big

Sorry mate you would have to convert it in psp format to play it no hacks or fixes just convert in psp format then it should be just fine.

There are homebrew apps that can play AVI files and the latest PSP Firmware plays Motion JPEG Avis. It's crap though. No one's gonna use that codec...

Also PimpStreamer plays AVIs right off your computer.

You use Firefox to download them off youtube. but i wouldnt bother once thier on the PSP they are rubbish quality.
