You must upgrade to custom firmware 3.02 OE-A and then to 3.02 OE-B.
To do this you must be running V1.50 or any of the older custom firmwares.

but what if i get the bsod and my my dad would kill me lol if i upgrade coz he bought me my psp for £230 as 1.5

@ sudds can u help me upgrade to 3.02oe-a im scared i might brick though i wont get bsod will i? and i need to be able to go back to 1.5 anytime cause if my dad sees im not 1.5 he'll killl me lol

just do the upgrade, It's perfectly safe if you follow the instructions, and much better than 1.5.
You can load psone games directly from the memory stick.
We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent...

yh man 3.02 OE is great u dnt have to deal with no devhook and emulating firmware but i dnt know how to play ps1 games tho, sudds can u help me out

Just asking because, Americans and Japanese can convert their PS1 games to run on the PSP.
As where from the land of PAL ours wont work.
So we have to download them, just put the file into GAME and run it from there.

Put the PSX folder into GAME.
The folder contains the EBOOT and KEYS.BIN files.

Hey Sudds, the file of 3.02 OE-B takes a long long time,
8 Hours passed and now only 22%
EDIT: Dude , the downloading process Hanged! Argh,gotta start again!!
Hey, can u tell me more about recovery mode?
Plus, there r a lot of threads saying that they have trouble updating from 3.02OE-A to OE-B.I wonder y?

Must have a slow connection mate.
Upgrading from OE-A to OE-B takes a matter of secs.
Recovery, if anything goes wrong willl let you downgrade your PSP to 1.50 and give you a clean install, basicly if you brick you can fix it.
